This grant program assists new and established businesses that do not have outstanding loans with the City of Superior Economic Development. Businesses can receive up to $1,000 per eligible employee, with a maximum of six employees per year. The total city funding, available for all applicants, is limited to $50,000 per calendar year.
Eligibility
- Business: Open to companies with no active loans specifically from City of Superior Economic Development. Other loans do not affect eligibility.
- Employees: Must be full-time FTE (Full time equivalent) W-2 staff in new or replacement roles.
Grant Details
- $1000 per FTE in a 1 year (12-month period).
- A grant of $500, for each employee at 6 months for a new business.
- Maximum: 6 employees per employer per year (up to $6,000/year).
- Annual program funding limit: $50,000 (all applicants combined).
All calculations are based on the quarterly Wage & Tax report filed with the State of Nebraska. It is the responsibility of the Owner to supply those records.
Application Process
- Apply with proof of business status and no City of Superior Economic Development loans.
- Submit employee names to start with the last Wage & Tax Report..
- After 6 months, give copies of the Wage & Tax Report to the City Program Administrator, usually the Director of Economic Development. (NEW BUSINESSES)
- After 12 months, verify continued employment for the $1000 per employee payment, again by submitting the last 4 quarters of Wage and Tax Reports.
